Dr. Eric Winston
Veterinarian
Dr. Winston grew up the youngest of six children in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He graduated from Weslaco High School in 1993 and then attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with a degree in Animal Science in 1997. After undergraduate studies, he was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University and completed his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation, he practiced back in South Texas before heading to Austin in 2003. Dr. Winston founded Village Veterinary Hospital in 2007.
Dr. Winston is a proud father of a daughter and a five year old boy! His wife, Joslin, was a former elementary school teacher and has vast experience in the local Austin non-profit world. She now works at Village Vet while raising their children. Dr. Winston actively participates in taking care of the animal companions who reside at the Mobile Loaves & Fishes Community First! Village.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Winston is an avid motorcycle enthusiast, occasional photographer, outdoorsman, and wishes he had more time to spend fly fishing the coast and exploring the history of Texas. Aviation was also a passion of his, having earned his pilot’s license when he was 18.
