THE PET’S 10 COMMANDMENTS

  • #1) Consider me as you come and go for the 10-15 years we have. To heal the pain of separation – only reconnecting can.
  • #2) Give me time to understand all that you want of me. Your patient, loving heart to ask is that you shall receive.
  • #5) Be slow to anger, quick to move on, and try not to lock me up. You have your work, your friends and fun in all the things you do. Punishment inside a cage hurts as all I have is you.
  • #4) My well-being needs a place in me for you to place your trust. A skeptic’s home inside I’ll be simply not well enough.
  • #5) Talk to me. I hear and see well enough for words. Though language is beyond my grasp your voice and love are heard.

  • Always and forever be aware that choice begets. The memory of how you treat me is one I won’t forget.
  • #7) Think twice, before you hit or strike me – a count of 1 or 2. The power to hurt you within my hands, yet I choose to not bite you.
  • #8) Do not scold or judge me harshly for being lazy or uncooperative; perhaps I’m not getting the right food, spent too much time in the sun, or have an aging, weakening heart.
  • #9) Care for me when I am old as you cared for me in my youth. You, too will grow old, and I will care for you the same throughout.
  • #10) When our journey is most difficult, please don’t make me go alone. Whatever you can face, I can face for my love is for you is so.
